SWING Low...

+++

"This is my swing set.  This is my sand box.
I'm not allowed to go in the deep end."

-Ralph Wiggum

+++

SUMMER is officially UPON us.
And
it is HOT, HOT, hot here in the South!

AND
There is just NO way to ENJOY the outside
right NOW without
getting sweaty or getting CREATIVE.

So it had me THINKING...

Back in the DAY,
on the ol' PLAYGROUND,
we used to HIT the SWING set
 to get a BREEZE flowing through the AIR.

Oh the fun...

Not to mention the TIRE swing
(a.k.a. step BROTHER to the original SWING)....

Which created A BIT more of a RISKIER
endeavour for the POTENTIAL SUMMER cool Down...
(i.e. getting stuck in the HOLE and/or
 BARFING from SPINNING in circles)

ALL things CONSIDERED,
the SWING has now BECOME a TRENDY and functional
FIXTURE for the HOME

Check out these TRADITIONAL and
NOT so traditional uses...

NO...BUT a SUPER stylish PORCH indeed!

MOMA marathon...

 +++

“The strangeness will wear off and I think we
will discover the deeper meanings in modern art.”
+ Jackson POLLACK

+++

WE just returned from a VERY quick trip to NEW YORK...
TRYING to do New York in TWO days was CRAZY...

Among "our" (not so much, JEREMY's)
priorities was MY favorite place on EARTH!

MOMA a.k.a. The MUSEUM of MODERN art!

NOTHING gets me more EXCITED than
 entering into a
MECCA of ARTISTIC wonders!

WE had APPROXIMATELY TWO hours before we
were leaving NYC
and I insisted we take a QUICK gander inside!

HERE are a FEW of my most
FAVORITE art pieces from
our WILD and CRAZY MOMA marathon!

ENJOY!

Red, WHITE, and BLUE...

"I love my freedom.  I love my America."
  + Jessi Lane Adams

 +++

With July 4th creeping our way, nothing screams
PATRIOTISM like the color scheme RED, WHITE, and blue.

This BOLD and Bright combo brings a
CLASSIC AMERICAN feel to any
INTERIOR!

Personally, it makes me want HOT DOGS
and SLIP n SLIDES!

+++

This CHILD'S room designed by
ASHLEY Whittaker is a POSH
take on PATRIOTISM!

EVERY detail from the star print CARPET
to the AMERICAN flag
WALLPAPER gets me in the SPIRIT for the fourth!

+++

A great mix of PATTERNS make
this a more subtle approach to the COLOR palette!

+++

girl's rooms - red damask paint wallpaper turquoise blue desk lamp chair nailhead trim turquoise blue leather twin headboards built-ins cabinets bookcases red silk drapes silk cushions blue bed skirt accents
This teen's room has an UPSCALE feel with the Crystal
CHANDELIER
and the non-traditional
TURQUOISE substituted for BLUE.

I HEART the BOHO feel!

+++

MIXING different colors
makes this a  BEACHY and FUN porch!

+++

RED, WHITE, and blue even works in a KITCHEN!
